Music, culture and… great fun!

Il 5 marzo la nostra classe ha partecipato ad un workshop in inglese. Siamo partiti dagli anni `50 per arrivare fino ai giorni nostri, attraversando i diversi stili che nel corso del tempo hanno caratterizzato, oltre alla musica, anche l`abbigliamento, il cinema e il modo di pensare. Karl, il ragazzo di lingua inglese che ci ha accompagnato in questo viaggio, è riuscito a farci "visitare" il passato, attirando la nostra attenzione e rendendoci tutti partecipi; ci ha fatti leggere, cantare e giocare, divisi in squadre, ad indovinare quanti più titoli possibili. Questa esperienza ci è servita per aiutarci ad utilizzare l`inglese in contesti diversi da quelli scolastici e anche ad apprezzare la musica di altri tempi. È stata una bella giornata, che vorremmo riproporre anche per l`anno prossimo.

On 5th March we took part in an English workshop that took us on a journey through the past decades, from the 1950s to the 1990s. Laura, an English girl from London, talked to us, showed us video-clips and sang with us. What surprised us most in the 1950s was fashion, with American pinups and their dotted full skirts; in the ‘60s Audrey Hepburn’s beauty in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” charmed us, in the 70’s we discovered reggae and Bob Marley, in our journey through the ’80, we fought against ghosts in “Ghostbusters”, in the ‘90s we followed the white rabbit with Neo, in “The Matrix”. Laura left us with a question: what will we remember about the 2000s?

Saturday was a fantastic day, we had an English workshop with a New Zealand musician, Karl Lavo`. We had fun learning about different music and the ages, fashion and films. We could see the music revolution and the most famous names of the singers of the essential things . Singing and doing the quizzes was really fun too, and the best part was when he sang and played his guitar. The programs were interesting and the preparation of work was spectacular! We really enjoyed the lesson because it was different to the other English lessons. We were all involved in the activities and it was also very useful for the pronunciation and we could make comparison with a native speaker. It was a great experience and we hope to do it again.

Il giorno 5 marzo 2016 abbiamo partecipato al workshop di inglese “ POP MUSIC ‘ND CULTURE”. Pensavamo sarebbe stata una bella occasione per perdere 2 ore di scuola ma siamo rimasti tutti a bocca aperta perché abbiamo “incontrato” un sacco di personaggi famosi tra cui i Beatles, Bob Marley, Fidele e perfino… Lorenzo Fragola.
I due animatori madre lingua , Karl e Lava, ci hanno intrattenuti con canzoni in voga dagli anni 50 ad oggi, ci hanno fatto conoscere la cultura di quegli anni tramite film famosi e ci hanno insegnato che la “ musica non ha età”.Tra una nota e l’altra noi ragazzi siamo diventati dei grandi fan di quei due giovani talenti inglesi. Speriamo di ripetere questa esperienza per riascoltare quelle meravigliose voci e per rivedere l’entusiasmo dei ragazzi perfino nei corridoi!
